Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Workneh Gebeyehu bade farewell to the outgoing Ambassador of Egypt to Ethiopia, Ambassador Abou Bakr Hefny Mahmoud, on Saturday (September 22).
Minister Workneh thanked the Ambassador for his efforts to strengthening the longstanding and historical bilateral relationship between Ethiopia and #Egypt during his tenure. Taking note of the strong ties between Ethiopia and Egypt, Dr. Workneh remarked that the two countries enjoy an excellent cooperation across a wide range of issues and reaffirmed that his country continues to work closely with the friendly people and Government of Egypt. He also underlined the importance of further strengthening relations between the two Countries.
Ambassador Abou Bakr, on his behalf, said that the relationship of the two countries is moving on the right direction. Praising the initiatives taken from the Ethiopian side to further improve the bilateral relations, the Ambassador reiterated his country’s commitment to further widen the areas of cooperation with Ethiopia.He also promised that he would do his level best to promote the relations of the two countries.
